16 – 25 yo can be heard in Parliament
Are you aged between 16 – 25 and interested in having your say on issues that matter to you?
Applications for the 2022 YMCA Victoria Youth Parliament program are now open!The Youth Parliament program runs over three days and gives participants the opportunity draft, debate and vote on bills in the chambers of the Victorian Parliament.
Youth Parliament has shaped more than 30 Victorian Laws including;
Container deposit scheme.
Mandatory wearing of bike helmets.
Banning the sale of soft drinks in government schools.
Gender-neutral school uniforms.The program also includes the YMCA Youth Press Gallery which provides an opportunity for young people with an interest in journalism to meet professional state and national political reporters and participate in a real press gallery.
