Rapid antigen Tests are coming
This is a rapid antigen test – and it’s going to be one of the keys to getting us back to doing the things we love most.
They’ve just been approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration – so we’re ordering over two million of them as we change the way we manage outbreaks and infections in our state.
Hospitals and healthcare workers will be the first to use these new tests – helping them triage patients and catch any infections among staff and close contacts earlier.
Then they’ll be rolled out in schools and workplaces as more supplies become available.
And we’re looking at how we could use them for people who are having to undertake home quarantine or before attending big events.
