Construction of the pathway between Erica and Rawson is due to commence in November. Survey and other preliminary works have already been completed, but the commencement of construction will depend on weather and ground conditions. Completion of the $836 671 project is expected by the end of December.

Walhalla Goldfields Railway has joined Walhalla’s Star Hotel in making it through as “finalists” to the Latrobe City Business Tourism Association Inc “People’s Choice Awards”. Although it was originally hoped the pathway between the two townships would be operable by the end of 2021, work has yet to commence. A number of issues, including COVID related shortages and design changes have caused delays, but it is understood the project will commence early in 2022.
