Walhalla’s Star Hotel Stars Again

Last night the hotel was once again in winner of the Best Accommodation (15 rooms or less) Award at the Latrobe City Business Tourism Association Inc “People’s Choice” Awards. This is the seventh time the hotel has won over a period of ten years (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019 and 2021). Unusually we won five in a row as normally, after three wins, you would be placed in the “Hall of Fame” and be ineligible to enter for three years…but on the third year the category was changed and we were reset back to one (hence five in a row). In 2017 and 2018 we were in the “Hall of Fame” so ineligible and in 2019 the rules were changed to remove the ineligibility criteria so we were once again able to enter. There was no award in 2020 (hmmm…I wonder why).
So after some ten years and seven awards we must be doing something vaguely right. I know this competition is based on public votes…but so are elections…and you only win if there are people who support you.
So thank you to YOU…as I know many of you have supported me and the hotel and what we do. It’s been a tough gig in the past few years and we are not alone in that space, so having people supportIng and encouraging you in difficult times means a lot.
Finally thanks to those who made the effort to vote for us and who continue to be there through thick and thin. It’s much appreciated.
